Saffron

Before you ask, this is done completely in MS Paint.

This is Saffron, a Chartreux cat from the novel Felidae: On the Road. I was originally doing a cat study(drawing a cat for the first time), using a million different references. I have to say it paid off, but he looks a little chubby. D= It's the fur's fault.

In the book, he's described as being a giant. Then again, when you're Francis, everything looks bigger I guess. Also, he's supposed to be covered in garbage and sewage, but I didn't want to ruin how perfect this cat looks. XD Anyway, I just drew him as a normal sized Chartreux, with the usual gray coat(in this case darker than usual). He's blind, so that's why his eyes are a much lighter blue, and he has earrings because his past owner was a nutcase(to sum it up). He was starved, tortured, and put through human-type fashion. It was quite sad. D= (Princci is such a good author.)

Again, I'm amazed. My first serious cat drawing, and it's bloody wonderful. X_X
